"A vivouack in safety or Florida troops preventing a surprise." Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division,

In another parody of the Van Buren administration's costly policies in Florida, soldiers recline in the lap of luxury, attended by an Indian maid and protected by a "Puppy Guard Sentinel." A soldier playing chess expresses his gratitude for the bloodhounds: "Since our new Allies from Cuba have joined us, we can have a quiet game of Chess without any fear of a check from our red friends in the Swamp."
