Note: If you are an AOL user and typically get blurry images on the Web, be sure and see the special recommendation for AOL users.

On the Trail is designed to work on all major browsers at any monitor setting. Because the site showcases archival-quality images, the following settings (standard on most computers) are recommended:

Monitor Settings
Resolution of 800 x 600 or above (1024 x 768 recommended)
Colors on High Color or above (True Color recommended)

How to change your monitor settings:

PC

  1. Minimize all windows
  2. Right-click on the desktop
  3. Select Properties: Settings
  4. Adjust the slider until you get the desired setting 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 (recommended)
  5. Select True Color (recommended) or High Color.

MAC

  1. Click on the apple icon at the top left of your screen
  2. Select Control Panels/Monitors and Sound
  3. Click on the Monitor icon and select 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 (recommended)
  4. Choose the highest possible color settings.
