Fort Duncan,
Eagle Pass, Texas. 1870-1914.
At the invitation of U.S. officers, the maroons returned to
Texas to form the famous Seminole Negro Indian Scouts, who
played a vital role on the Texas frontier, serving at Fort
Duncan from 1870-76 and at Fort Clark, in Brackettville, from
1872-1914. |
